For Partner Integrators#
Introduction#
As a partner, your users can accept bank payments on your software. GoCardless establishes a direct relationship with your users, and processes payments on your behalf. If you're a merchant accepting payments yourself, see Collect Payments instead.
In this guide, we'll cover all of the key steps required for building an integration.
Before you start#
Sign up for a sandbox account and test your integration without moving real money, and get familiar with GoCardless concepts.
1. Connect your platform#
- Create an app on the GoCardless dashboard
- Use OAuth and get authorisation to make API calls on your user's behalf
- Help your users get verified, so they can receive payouts
- Set up webhooks to listen for events across all your users
2. Accept and manage payments (build your integration)#
- Use the Billing Request API and flow to set up mandates
- Import the mandates your users set up before connecting to you
- Collect payments, and handle the ones that fail
- Mark transactions as paid and reconcile payouts
- Use payment intelligence products to optimise your users' revenue
- Optionally, send outbound payments on your user's behalf, one at a time or in batches they approve in the GoCardless dashboard
3. Go live#
- Submit the partner with us form and tell us about your business
- Test your integration in the sandbox
- Check you've built everything in the integration guide, and that your product follows the design guides
- Record a demo
- Set up your live account and live app, then submit for review
Once you're live, monitor your connected merchants, payment volume and webhook health from the Partner Dashboard. Just click "Switch to Partner View" in the side nav.
