Recurring Payments#
Once you have an active mandate, GoCardless supports several models for collecting recurring payments:
- Subscriptions — Fixed amount on a regular schedule (weekly, monthly, etc.).
- Instalment schedules — A defined series of payments, each with its own amount and date.
- Variable Recurring Payments (VRP) — Open Banking-powered payments where the amount varies within agreed limits, without re-authorisation for each charge.
- Instant first payment with mandate — Collect an Open Banking payment immediately while simultaneously setting up a Direct Debit mandate.

Instalment Schedules
Define a series of payments with individual amounts and charge dates.
Variable Recurring Payments
Collect variable amounts within agreed limits via Open Banking, without re-authorisation.

Collect an instant Open Banking payment while setting up a Direct Debit mandate in parallel.
