# One-off Payments

GoCardless supports two ways to collect a one-off payment without requiring a recurring mandate:

- **Pay by Bank** — An instant Open Banking payment where the customer authorises a single transfer from their bank app. Best for immediate, high-value, or first-time payments.
- **One-off Direct Debit** — Creates a mandate that is immediately consumed by a single payment. Best when you want the familiar Direct Debit flow but only need to charge once.
